Headshot Photography FAQ – Washington, DC
If you’re thinking about booking a headshot session, you might have a few questions. Here are the most common things people ask about our studio, what to expect, and how to get the best results from your headshot session in Washington, DC.
How long does a headshot session take?
Our individual headshot sessions last up to 90 minutes. That gives us plenty of time for outfit changes, posing guidance, and image review right after the shoot. We won’t rush you—we want you to feel comfortable and confident on camera.
What should I wear to a headshot session?
We recommend wearing simple, professional clothes in solid colors. Avoid patterns, logos, and anything shiny or distracting.
- For men: Structured collars, fitted blazers, and button-down shirts work well.
- For women: Clean necklines, fitted tops, and minimal jewelry are best.
Bring 3–4 options so we can help you choose what photographs best on camera.
Do you offer professional hair and makeup?
Hair and makeup are not included, but we do recommend doing your own or hiring a makeup artist before you arrive. Keep the look natural and clean. Use translucent powder to reduce shine and avoid heavy eye makeup or dark lip colors.
Can I bring multiple outfits?
Yes! You can change outfits as many times as you'd like during your session. Most people do 2–4 looks. We’ll help you decide which outfits work best for your goals—whether it’s for LinkedIn, your company website, or a speaking engagement.
How do I choose my final images?
Right after your session, we’ll sit down and go through your photos together. You’ll pick your favorite shots on the spot. You only pay for the images you choose to have retouched.
How will I get my final headshots?
Final retouched images are delivered by private download link within 2 business days. If you need them sooner, just ask—we offer rush delivery when available.
How much does a headshot cost?
- Session fee: $325 (includes up to 90 minutes, coaching, and outfit changes)
- Retouched images: $75 per image (chosen after your session)
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
You can reschedule at no extra charge if you give us at least 48 hours’ notice. If you cancel late or don’t show up, the $325 session fee is non-refundable. We understand that life happens—just let us know as early as possible and we’ll work with you.
Where is your headshot studio located?
We’re located at 5901 Blair Rd NE, Washington, DC 20011. Free covered parking is available on Oglethorpe Street, under the Self Storage Plus building. Just call or text when you arrive and we’ll meet you at the entrance.
Do you photograph corporate teams too?
Yes! We offer on-location headshot sessions for companies and organizations in DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We can photograph your entire team at your office, event, or conference.
